{"id":9239,"date":"2024-10-08T18:11:25","date_gmt":"2024-10-08T17:11:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ltsglobalsolutions.com\/?p=9239"},"modified":"2025-08-13T16:33:45","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T15:33:45","slug":"lts-global-solutions-gains-planet-mark-accreditation-for-commitment-to-sustainability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ltsglobalsolutions.com\/blog\/lts-global-solutions-gains-planet-mark-accreditation-for-commitment-to-sustainability\/","title":{"rendered":"LTS GLOBAL SOLUTIONS GAINS PLANET MARK ACCREDITATION FOR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Coleshill-based logistics, transport and shipping specialist LTS Global Solutions has been awarded Planet Mark Business Certification in recognition of its commitment to sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accreditation is the result of the company\u2019s success in measuring and reducing its carbon emissions, in turn contributing to its environmental, social and governance criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A prominent player in one of the most environmentally damaging industries, reducing its carbon footprint has long been at the top of LTS Global Solutions\u2019 agenda. &nbsp;The company is continually stiving to lower its emissions and is passionate about playing its part in helping to ensure the planet is left in a better condition for the next generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, the business moved into a 133,000 sq ft state-of-the-art, purpose-built Net Zero carbon in construction facility at Hams Hall. Since then it has converted its forklift fleet to all-electric alternatives, upgraded its fleet to Euro 6 models, purchased its first ever all-electric truck and invested in a new TMS platform to optimise routes and cut mileage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company\u2019s relocation to Hams Hall has encouraged colleagues to participate in car sharing initiatives. This has resulted in a seven per cent increase in car sharing and a five per cent reduction in car occupancy. LTS Global Solutions has also implemented facilities allowing drivers to sleep in their cabs on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other initiatives introduced throughout the company include a move to electric materials handling equipment and the use of recycled materials in its pick and pack operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accreditation comes as LTS Global Solutions celebrates its 25th anniversary year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also comes as the company has been shortlisted for awards from Planet Mark \u2013 the Best Use of Planet Mark Award and the Best Newcomer Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dave Hands, Managing Director of LTS Global Solutions, said: \u201cWe are delighted to have been shortlisted in this year\u2019s Planet Mark awards.&nbsp; To reach the final so early in our sustainability journey is a great achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMaking positive contributions to reducing our emissions is something that is continually top of mind at LTS Global Solutions and an ethos which we look to apply to every aspect of our operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile it\u2019s a daunting prospect taking your first steps on a sustainability journey it has become an incredibly exciting and rewarding process.
