LTS GLOBAL SOLUTIONS’ CHARITY WORK
Creating Change with Compassion
At LTS Global Solutions, our commitment to charity is born from personal experience and a heartfelt belief in the power of inclusion. We’re proud to stand alongside Down Syndrome UK and the Positive About Down Syndrome (PADS) initiative, championing a nationwide movement to improve secondary education for children with Down syndrome. This cause is close to our hearts, and it shows in everything we do, from impactful fundraising to bold awareness campaigns like our specially wrapped vehicles.
On March 21st, 2021, World Down Syndrome Day, we launched our first branded vehicle in support of PADS, marking the beginning of a journey that continues to inspire and unite our team. Every mile driven is a message of hope, visibility, and unwavering support.
Creating a Secondary Education Programme for students with Down Syndrome
In partnership with LTS Global Solutions, DSUK will develop a Secondary Education Programme to launch in 2026.
Aiming to raise £40,000, this initiative will offer training, resources, and ongoing support to secondary schools nationwide, helping to unlock the potential of every learner with Down syndrome.
Down Syndrome UK, a national parent-led charity supporting over 5,000 families, is dedicated to ensuring children and young people with Down syndrome receive the best possible education.
There is a clear need for targeted professional development and training for teachers and teaching assistants.Recent studies show:
- 87.8% of parents believe schools would benefit from Down syndrome-specific training.
- 31.4% of teaching assistants lack this training entirely.
While 80% of children with Down syndrome attend mainstream primary schools, this figure drops to just 37% at secondary level. Parents and schools often cite insufficient knowledge, training, and support as barriers to mainstream secondary inclusion.
Research confirms that inclusive education leads to better post-secondary outcomes, including higher employment rates and independent living opportunities (DSI, 2020).
Dave, our Managing Director, and Rachel, from HR & Comms, have a 10-year-old daughter, Ella, with Down syndrome. Ella has thrived in mainstream primary school thanks to the school’s inclusive approach.
However, as they look ahead to secondary school, they have found a lack of similar support and understanding. They want Ella to flourish alongside her brother, Connor in a mainstream secondary school.
“This initiative is deeply personal to us, but it also stands to positively impact thousands of children across the UK. By partnering with DSUK, we aim to ensure quality education and support for children with Down syndrome, their teachers, families, and future colleagues. We have high expectations and are committed to making a difference.”
On the 30th August 2025, a team of LTS volunteers attempted to conquer Snowdon to raise funds for a Secondary Education Programme for students with Down syndrome. The team braved bracing winds and rain in conditions so severe that some participants were forced to abort the challenge. Snowdon’s train and café were also closed due to the adverse weather. However, the majority of the team made it to the summit and raised in excess of £3200 towards our £40,000 target, an amazing achievement, and we are grateful to those who volunteered, donated and cheered us on. You can still donate on the link above.
Positive about Down Syndrome (PADS)
Positive about Down syndrome (PADS) is an initiative by the national charity DSUK. LTS are hoping to help make a difference by raising positive awareness of Down syndrome, and to help people understand it better by displaying some wonderful images of children and young people living their best lives for all to see as our vehicles travel the country.
We currently have three vehicles and one trailer travelling around the UK supporting this initiative along with a smaller version of the truck and trailer in our reception area.
At our open day in October 2022 families were invited to join us for our celebrations and our raffle was in aid of the Ups of Downs a Warwickshire-based charity.
